And Anaxagoras is thus, though unto others he is known by less than favorable names: The Blasphemer, the Foolish, the Great Performer -- a Chocobo draped in finery. A long standing Sharlayan professor of alchemy and histories, Anaxagoras was feared by many of his students and respected greatly by a scant few for his strict, no-nonsense style of teaching. Despite his perceived cruelty, Anaxagoras encouraged his students to question everything -- even himself, though they must be prepared to back themselves up. He believes in education for any and all and the pursuit of knowledge is paramount. An unbeliever of the Twelve, Anaxagoras believes only in science and the will of man and seeks to surpass the supposed gods.

Anaxagoras has a strong personality, with emphasis on knowledge and reason. He is someone who values logic and intellectual pursuits, always questioning established truths and seeking deeper understanding. Although he is serious and detached, he holds a high sense of duty and compassion to those who grow close enough to him, or anyone who seeks knowledge.Currently, he has taken a forced (by his sister-in-law) hiatus (for his health) from teaching to explore Eorzea and it's many city-states. Eager to learn anything and everything he might not already know, he went quite readily. His favorite place so far has been Thavnair and it's excellence in alchemy. He is not one for superficial gifts of bribery, but the best way to get him to acknowledge you at least a little bit is to ask him questions if you seek knowledge.

▍ ❝   I.
Anaxagoras was born in the Sharlayan colony of Idyllshire, having lost his parents long before he could remember all he had as family was his beloved older sister. At a young age, Anaxagoras would venture away from the other groups of children, instead seeking to learn and grow despite his youth. To some he was growing up too fast, his seriousness too much for that of a child. Regardless, Anaxagoras pressed on, encouraged by his older sister purchasing tools and books and anything he needed for his studies with her meager salary as a chocobo keeper.

▍ ❝   II.
Before long, Anaxagoras's sister had contracted an illness that was beyond the knowledge of even the Sharlayans among them. She succumbed after a year, leaving Anaxagoras behind and alone -- yet not for long. Louisoix Leveilleur had heard tale of Anaxagoras's talents and intellect and quickly took the young boy under his wing. He grew up alongside Fourchenault Leveilleur, the pair at constant odds with each other in their own rivalry.

▍ ❝   III.
As Anaxagoras studied, he caused chaos amongst his peers. He refused the existence of the gods, the Sharlayan preferred Thaliak among them. As Fourchenault grew in favor of the Council, seeking admittance to their ranks, Anaxagoras chose to become a professor of the Studium. The pair's rivalry only deepened, Fourchenault embarrassed by Anaxagoras's antics and they sought to separate from one another as much as they could. Fourchenault attempts to lock him out of the estate, though Ameliance, Alphinaud and especially Alisae always let him back in.

▍ ❝   HOOK ONE. Sharlayan, Education, Alchemy. (Easy)
Any familiar with Idyllshire, Old Sharlayan and the Studium would have easy knowledge of Anaxagoras the Foolish. A student? A resident? A gleaner? They know Anaxagoras's name.Even outside of the Sharlayan circles in Anaxagoras's travels he has made a bit of a stir here and there with his adventures. A grumpy scholar lost in the libraries of the city states, a man who at any given point may fall silent and immediately burst into laughter before he is seen running off to his next experiment. His favorite place to visit is Thavnair and his visits are extended greatly. While in Thavnair, he is often seen at The Great Work, working along side his fellow alchemists.

▍ ❝   HOOK TWO. The Blasphemer. (Medium)
While many of Sharlayan residence know of Anaxagoras's blasphemes, most do not know the extent of what he has done. There are some rumors of his insane experiments, including the sacrifice of his eye in attempt at human transmutation. This rumor is more locked into Old Sharlayan and is difficult to be known of outside of the island due to the nature of his crime.Using this hook is preferred to be discussed beforehand but not entirely necessary if the character has time in Old Sharlayan, or spoken to those who have.

▍ ❝   HOOK THREE. The Demised Scholar (Hard).
Few beyond close family members and close colleagues know of Anaxagoras's actual state of life: he virtually does not have one. He is a walking corpse at most, having long since removed his heart to create the Philosopher's Stone. No one but he knows the exact location of this magic alchemic artifact. These are not rumors, but a secret locked away in the Noumenon in it's Forbidden Section.Using this hook must be discussed beforehand outside of RP. I will not accept mention of it in RP unless it has been talked through.

Hello! My name is Crow, though I also am called Corpse. I am an old rper, with many years under my belt and have been playing this game for 10 long years. I enjoy both short and long form rp and I'm always excited to meet new people, even if I'm a little quiet in the beginning.I can be contacted in game under the name Corpse Husband on Balmung, Crystal data center. While I dont give out my discord frequently, if we meet and chat I will be willing to share it. While I don't normally have a preference, I don't mind in game rp but prefer discord sometimes as I have a hectic and spontaneous life that prevents me from being able to sit down for an rp session. Discord makes posting easier, as we can post at our leisure. I enjoy all rp: humorous, dark and yes, I will dabble in erotic if the rp steers in that direction. I will not focus solely on ERP. I prefer such things to happen between those I am closer to, or we have been rping long enough together.

I also want to say, that I did take this character from MiHoyo's Honkai Star Rail. Yes, I know that might bother some as it's not an entirely organic character and some may not want to interact with me due to that fact. And that's okay. I, however, will not tolerate people dogging me about it or being rude. If you do not like the way this character is handled, then please do not bother to contact me. It's easier to just pass each other by than to have fights about something as silly as this.I adore Anaxagoras the character and have chosen to take him into a universe where he would probably enjoy himself, despite some of the theological elements. I have spent time redesigning him more to FFXIV standards and have rewritten parts of his story to fit the Final Fantasy narrative. While he does have connections to larger NPCs in the game (Fourchenault, the Twins, etc) it does not have to be broached in typical RP. He has his own WOL-verse that is entirely seperate from my day-to-day RP. If it's wanted, his WOL version can be used, elsewise he is just a Sharlayan scholar and adventurer.
